**Working for the Department/Faculty

The PGME Office is responsible for the administration of over 950 trainees in over 60 accredited training programs within the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry in the College of Health Sciences.

Each of these high-quality clinical training programs is accredited by the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada (RCPSC) or the College of Family Physicians of Canada (CFPC).

**Position

Are you interested in medical education and want to join a dynamic collaborative team As we prepare for Accreditation 2025 and expand our curriculum and development offerings, we need someone creative who can engage our postgraduate medical education community.


The individual in this position is responsible for coordinating and supporting activities related to accreditation as well as the ongoing professional development of residents, program directors, and program administrators.

Postgraduate residency and fellowship program accreditation is complex and ever-changing, and as such this individual will be a local expert who responds to our institution's unique needs.

This role supports both the PGME and its accredited programs in meeting mandatory components of accreditation standards and curriculum requirements.

**Duties

Accreditation activities, including but not limited to:

  • Acts as the primary resource for PGME as it relates to program accreditation
  • Acts as the local Superuser for the Canadian Accreditation Management System (CanAMS)
  • Collaborates with and supports the PGME accreditation & leadership teams and relevant committees
  • Tracks and follows up on accreditation status, results, progress, and action plans
  • Creates, updates, and maintains accreditation resources for programs
Curriculum and Development initiatives, including but not limited to:

  • Supports and coordinates resident educational activities, faculty development activities for Program Directors, and professional development activities for Program Administrators; conducts needs assessments, distributes/maintains evaluation data, compiles activity statistics and creates activity report summaries
  • Collaborates with and supports PGME's Core Curriculum Director and Quality Improvement & Patient Safety Director in the development and maintenance of new and existing modules, workshops, and courses

Other Duties:

  • Works as a team player in the PGME office; collaborates with PGME team members in other regular activities, including Orientation, Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) activities, etc.
  • Provides PGME website (Cascade) support & maintenance

Minimum Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline preferred; minimum, postsecondary certificate. Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • 35 years of experience in a medical education and/or academic environment with extensive involvement in postsecondary educational procedures
  • Two (2) or more years project management experience
  • Advanced experience with Google Apps (Mail, Drive, Docs, Forms, Sites, Calendar, Meet), Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Zoom
  • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as Cascade
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and work with diverse individuals and organizations
