PASAJ Commissary produces a wide range of pastries and breads for our 2 stores: PASAJ (Brunch Restaurant), SIMIT&CHAI (Bagel Shop) and wholesale customers. We pride ourselves in making everything from scratch. We're the only producers of Simit (Turkish Bagel) in Toronto.

Responsibilities:

  • Opening the bakery and prepare daily morning pastries and breads according to the production schedule (earliest shifts start at 7 am)
  • Weighing ingredients, mixing/portioning/shaping dough according to the recipes
  • Proofing, glazing, decorating products
  • Adjust oven temperatures to ensure proper baking
  • Maintaining cleaning schedules
Requirements and Skills

  • Experience as a Baker, Pastry Chef or similar role
  • Familiarity with all professional kitchen equipment, including mixers, blenders and dough sheeters
  • Understanding of food safety practices
  • Experience with cake decoration techniques and bread making
  • Excellent timemanagement skills
  • Ability to remain calm and focused in a fastpaced environment
  • Flexibility to work in early morning shifts
  • Certification from a culinary school is a plus

Job Types:
Full-time, Part-time

Part-time hours: 20-30 per week

Salary:
From $18.00 per hour
