What you'll do

  • Having recently embarked on a bold new strategic plan, BCCHF is building out their business intelligence function to effectively harness data, technology and digital strategies across the Foundation. In this newly created role, as the Vice President, Business Intelligence & Information Technology (VP, BI & IT), this individual will serve as a key member of the Executive Team at BCCHF, and will be responsible for the vision, strategy and advancement of the Foundation's technology, research, analytics and business intelligence functions, in support of the Foundation's ambitious fundraising target of doubling their current revenue. Reporting to the President & CEO, the incumbent will be instrumental in building and enabling BCCHF to become a bestinclass, digitally enabled organization that leverages digital technology, connectivity and data to provide insights that power authentic connections, guide personalization, and build and strengthen relationships.
  • More specifically, you will:
  • Provide strategic leadership to the Information Technology, Research & Prospect Management and Business Intelligence/Analytics teams.
  • Lead the strategic development and business planning that will support BCCHF's digital technology, information technology, research, analytics and business intelligence activities that form an integral part of the Foundation's Strategic Plan and fundraising objectives.
  • Champion the implementation and adaption of new enterprisewide business analytics, both conceptually and in the fulfilment of critical tools, processes and data.
  • In collaboration with leaders at all levels, assess organizational needs for actionable and predictive information.
  • Collaboratively lead the development of a comprehensive new governance model for data management across the organization.
  • Oversee the continued development of best practices for data management processes and data quality standards.
  • Promote the advancement of a datadriven culture across the organization.
  • Oversee the collection and dissemination of donor research and intelligence that informs fundraising leaders and employees.
  • Lead, mentor and develop team members to ensure career progression and succession planning within BCCHF.
  • Oversee management of the Foundation's Information Systems, which includes a range of integrated system solutions, supported by internal and external stakeholders.
  • Serve as a collaborative member of the Executive Team and contribute to overall Foundation strategy and performance.
  • Maintain a public facing leadership role in the notforprofit sector through presentations at professional conferences and through membership in and contribution toward professional societies or working groups.
  • Oversee development and delivery of bestinclass technology training for Foundation staff.
  • Provide guidance and leadership to the establishment of performance indicators and monitoring of performance against goals.
  • Develop, establish and direct execution of operating procedures to support overall organization policies and objectives.
  • Ensure compliance with the requirements of regulatory bodies.

What you bring

  • This will be your ideal role if you are an essential thought partner with highly developed leadership skills including relationship and team building skills that will be leveraged as you build out this new team and enable them to do their best work.
  • In addition, you will bring:
  • MBA would be an asset plus years of progressive senior leadership experience overseeing digital technology, information technology, data management, data analytics and business intelligence, with demonstrated outcomes.
  • Previous experience with consumer retail or complex fundraising organizations would be a definite asset.
  • An affinity to the Foundation's Values of Stepping Up, Thinking Big and Leading with Heart.
  • General understanding of current data architecture concepts.
  • Strong strategic and innovative thinking skills with the ability to work with others to define a vision, set priorities, establish strategies or figure out a solution to a problem.
