Shipping/receiving Clerk

Job purpose


In this roll the Shipping & Receiving Clerk will execute the receipt of incoming materials and goods as well as packing outbound shipments.

In addition to shipping and receiving duties the individual is responsible for deliveries, pickups, and shop cleanliness.

Duties and responsibilities

Shipping

  • Prepare and package shipments to customers based on the information provided by the Logistics Associate ensuring accuracy of the shipment and associated shipping documents.
  • Organize pallets, boxes or bundles to ensure parts are not damaged during transportation.
  • Properly capture the items included in the shipment using our tablets and ERP system to ensure product tracking and documentation.
  • Properly label international shipments
  • Load delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack or manually.
  • When requested, deliver shipments to local customers ensuring customer satisfaction, the correct paperwork is completed, and the parts remain in good condition all while respecting their onsite safety requirements.
  • Fill out and return all paperwork pertaining to the shipping and receiving process to the Logistics Associate in an organized manner.

Receiving

  • Unload delivery trucks using a forklift, pallet jack, or manually.
  • Receive in delivered product and label appropriately for easy retrieval.
  • Put away materials and components for storage and/or use
  • Organize items based on their status within the manufacturing process.
  • Will review inbound shipments and verify items and quantities before taking delivery, signing Bill of Ladings and entering receiving documentation into our ERP system. Will make notation of discrepancies and alert Logistics Associate or Buying Agent.
  • Follow and implement shop processes and procedures to ensure consistency in the manufacturing process and traceability of materials.

Other Shop Duties

  • Pick up materials from vendors or suppliers at the direction of the Logistics Associate, Production Manager or other team members.
  • Move materials in and out of work areas and the warehouse as required.
  • Assist in maintaining shop cleanliness.
  • Unload chip trays and scrap steal from work areas into correct scrap bins.
  • Deliver scrap material to waste management facilities.
  • Unload trash bins into dumpsters.
  • Alert management of out of stock or low stock levels as discovered.
  • Always maintaining your work area in a clean and organized fashion.
  • Identify and label boxes and products as instructed by the Production Manager and/or other supporting roles.
  • Complete all paperwork accurately as instructed by the Production Manager and/or other supporting roles.
  • Perform all work using safety equipment as instructed while obeying all safetyrules and procedures

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of relevant shipping and receiving experience or a similar roll.
  • Understanding of mechanical drawings considered an asset.
  • Forklift certification considered an asset
  • G drivers license with a clean record required, driving abstract will be ordered prior to offer being issued.
  • Knowledge of Shoptech Jobboss2 or other ERP systems an asset. Training will be provided to ensure correct use and accuracy of input procedures.
