Summary:

Role and Responsibilities:

  • On-Site startup and commissioning services
  • Involvement in installation and repair of other products Spartan Controls supplies to the oil and gas industry which include:
  • Fisher valves, regulators, Rosemount transmitters (flow, level, temperature)
  • Quality assurance on new equipment including testing new hardware and debugging new software
  • Telephone customer support on PIC products and solutions
  • Interfacing with Internal and external customers
  • Participating in our 7/24 on call rotation
  • Frequent domestic travel with potential travel to the US

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Instrumentation/Electrical Engineering Technology Diploma
  • Ability to relocate to meet business needs, once Edmonton/Calgary training period over (in approximately 1 year)
  • Experience with industrial software and familiarity with computer hardware fundamentals; programming experience is an asset
  • Experience with Rotating Equipment and Engine understanding is an asset.
  • Strong problemsolving skills
  • Solid customer service habits and practices
  • Selfdirected and able to work independently, as well as in a team environment
  • Ability to produce quality documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Physical requirements: able to drive long distances (typically in the range of 2 to 6 hours one way); occasional moderate lifting (ie: up to approximately 25 kg)
  • Valid Alberta driver's license, safe driving record and willing/able to travel both domestically and internationally
  • Entrepreneurial work ethic
  • Overtime pay for all required overtime hours
  • Travel per diems and paid accommodations for any travel required
  • Fully supplied with all Personal Protective Equipment
  • Additional safety training as required
  • Handson training
