Position Title:

Corporate

We are currently working remotely, and we will be moving to a hybrid model when our office renovation is complete (approximately November 2023), coming into the office a minimum of 2 days per week, every other week on designated days.

The Opportunity:
The client is at the heart of all we do at Equitable. Our purpose is to be there for our clients through our solutions, helping them protect today and prepare tomorrow.

With our 100+ year history, Equitable has not only met client commitments through disciplined risk management and a sustained profitability culture, but we also strive to exceed expectations through a culture of delivering for our clients with every product, interaction, or service we provide.

Fair treatment of clients ("FTC") has long been a core component of Equitable's business approach.

Not only is FTC fundamental to the ethical basis upon which Equitable operates, but it is also critically important to the sustainable success in the Canadian marketplace.

This role is about ensuring we deliver on our promises today, and into the future.

At the heart of our mutuality and our social relevance in helping clients towards financial and health security lies our belief that mutuality is an outcome of being equitable.

The AVP, Client Impact will lead through influence across the enterprise, providing direction and measuring the outcomes of Equitable's purpose - to be there for our clients for the next 100+ years - protecting today and preparing tomorrow.

The AVP, Client Impact will engage across the enterprise, with all areas of the organization, and the actions, behaviours and decisions transpiring within, thru a client impact lens.

This includes the accountability to measure and demonstrate the impact Equitable has on our clients, and to ensure that impact is sustainable.

Financial Services is a highly regulated industry to protect consumers. Ensuring we are compliant is table stakes - leveraging FTC powers our actions and decisions. In addition, within ESG, sustainability lies.

The social impact of Equitable's relationships with employees, clients, partners, and communities matters a great deal in creating the future Equitable Life.

The incumbent will also have ownership of researching, developing, and quarterbacking (including implementation) FTC, as well as Socially driven initiatives within our focus to embrace the "Social" in ESG.

To be "future fit" and sustainable, the impact we have matters today, and into the future.

The incumbent will have direct accountability for proposing ideas, gaining support, setting the policies and practices, and have shared responsibility for implementation across the organization and perhaps most importantly; measure the impact we have.

We are looking for a passionate advocate for having a positive sustainable impact on our clients, who can lead and inspire through influence.

This individual will be a well rounded and seasoned financial services professional with a strong understanding of insurance regulations, operations, distribution, compliance and products, someone who can measure the results and demonstrate the impact.

Someone who as comfortable speaking with regulators, as they are on a podium presenting Equitable's purpose.

What you will bring:

  • Demonstrated experience of at least 5 years in a similar capacity, building something new, across the organization, that has meaningful impact to clients and our strategic direction.
  • Proven experience translating principlebased regulations into practical, reasonable, policies and simple executable action plans is required.
  • Experience and passion around measuring client outcomes across diverse businesses and functional areas.
  • Substantial depth of understanding the lifecycle of insurance products and services and the impact to operations, distribution, product and marketing, sustainability and compliance across various life insurance lines of business. Ideally experience within a mutual company environment would be preferred.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal able to present ideas to executive level audiences, and large scale presentations with a diverse audience.
