Join the Housing Program Sector in the Bilingual Senior Manager, Monitoring and Reporting position. In this role, you will utilize your keen analytical abilities and enthusiasm for data to lead a team of corporate reporting and monitoring specialists within the Housing Programs and Sector Operations Division. This leadership will be instrumental in enhancing our reporting function. You will be responsible to oversee, monitor, analyze and report on all CMHC housing programs with a focus on performance, trends, exposure and results. You will establish and maintain solid business relationships throughout CMHC while closely collaborating to understand the clients, the strategy, the products and the policies to ensure ideal reporting on performance measurements are delivered.

What you'll do:

  • Engage effectively with clients to identify priority business needs for data, indicators, and related analytics.
  • Collaborate with senior management to strategize and provide input into the development of business strategy and risk management.
  • Utilize insights into industry analytical trends to ensure the deployment of strategic analytical tools, models, and techniques for data analysis and interpretation.
  • Monitor and report on the risks and performance of the business using risk management and analytic practices.
  • Advise and support the Housing Programs sector in developing strategy, new products, policies, and risk appetite metrics by providing key insights on business performance.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual performance and risk reports to support external and internal mandatory/regulatory reporting requirements (e.g., NHS target reporting, business supplements). Present and communicate insights in a clear and efficient manner to a diverse range of audiences, including senior management and external stakeholders, such as Parliamentarians and the general public.
  • Provide assurance to management on the soundness of the operations and the control environment through diligent monitoring of performance and risks.
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of automation and tech transformation initiatives within the Housing Programs Sector.

What you should have:

  • A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, Data Science, Statistics or in another related field.
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in a similar role, preferably in the housing sector with (5) years of supervisory experience.
  • An experience with risk management practices, data analysis, and reporting is essential. Strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and convert it into actionable strategies while able to identify, assess and manage risk to ensure desired outcomes.
  • A strong knowledge of CMHC's policies, products, programs and related risks.
  • Proven leadership behaviours including guiding teams, supporting individuals through change, and creating conditions to enable performance excellence and innovation.
  • A solid demonstration of strategic thinking and the ability to tie strategy to risks and performance to achieve desired results.
  • A proficiency with data analysis tools and software (Microsoft suite, Python, SQL, Power BI, familiarity with Azure data science services), and a knowledge of data validation and verification techniques.
  • Communication and interpretative skills to be able to contextualize complex results and concepts to senior management and general audience in both official languages (French and English)

It would be great if you also had:
