We are searching for a part-time or full-time permanent Accounting Clerk/Technician in Montreal to assist with the company's daily operations.

You will be working closely with the Controller to manage the day-to-day bookkeeping and administrative aspects of running the business.

The successful applicant will have a positive attitude, a desire to work as efficiently as possible, and excellent client-facing communication skills.

We're looking for someone who can operate effectively with little or no supervision and who can manage multiple tasks at once without becoming overwhelmed.

Responsibilities and Duties:

Bookkeeping & Data Entry

  • Post bills: Processing vendor and contractor bills, including matching invoices with purchase orders, quotes, and verification for accuracy
  • Post credit card purchases
  • Assisting with monthend reports and creating, maintaining, and entering information into databases (Forecast Excel sheets, ERP, CRM, Dashboards, etc.)
  • Updating paperwork and maintaining documents (word processing, spreadsheets, slide decks, etc.)
  • Bank deposits (when necessary)
  • Maintain and organize the filing system (digital & hardcopies)
  • Assist with other duties as required

Qualifications and Skills:

  • AEC/DEC/Bachelor in Accounting is an asset
  • Minimum of 1 year+ in basic bookkeeping principles and practices (preferred or open to learning)
  • Strong computer skills and ability to learn and use software (e.g., Google Workspace, Shipping software, etc.)
  • Prior experience working with an accounting software is an asset (Xero preferred)
  • Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel and MS Word
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage deadlines
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Understanding of the entrepreneurial spirit
  • Selfmotivated, able to multitask, able to meet deadlines & prioritize tasks, and works well under pressure
