Description

Job Summary:
As the Communications Specialist, you will oversee the communication and engagement efforts on a major Infrastructure project.

In order to be successful in this position, you will need experience in managing communications for large-scale transportation projects, a deep understanding of government communications processes, and the ability to build positive relationships with stakeholders.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly reviews the project schedule to understand and carryout all communications and engagement obligations
  • Creates and executes a comprehensive communication plan aligning with Project Agreement requirements
  • Supports Province's communication by assisting in communicating project value, benefits, and progress to stakeholders
  • Provides realtime updates on traffic changes caused by the project
  • Proactively addresses concerns and fosters positive relationships with stakeholders
  • Issues notices to stakeholders regarding project impacts and ensures transparency
  • Actively participates in relevant committees, including the Traffic Liaison Group
  • Manages and coordinates all incoming media requests related to the project
  • Collaborates with the internal teams to gather information and materials for media use

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications or any related discipline
  • Demonstrated knowledge of managing traffic, construction, and operations communications for transportation projects
  • Experience with working with government communications processes and policies
  • Developing traffic and communications strategies with the input of multiple stakeholders
  • Exceptional with managing issues related to transportation or other infrastructure construction projects
  • Ability to plan and manage engagement for transportation construction projects
