Assistant Director of Care


The Assistant Director of Care is a member of the management team reporting directly to the Director of Care and is responsible for all aspects of nursing administrative assistance pertaining to residents and staff.

Such duties are performed in accordance with Marianhill's Mission Statement, established policies and procedures and current legislation and in a manner which respects the uniqueness, dignity, worth, self-respect, self-determination and autonomy of the client and promotes maximum independence.

We are seeking individuals who are competent in their chosen profession, Resident/family focused and effective with communication.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Current RN diploma or degree with the College of Nurses of Ontario required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Clear vulnerable sector check is required.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in longterm care is required with comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, the Fixing Long-Term Care Act, and other applicable legislations.
  • Strong computer skills and familiarity with electronic resident records, CIHI analysis, Health Date reporting, etc. Experience with budget management is considered an asset.
  • Must have knowledge in data analysis, risk management, quality improvement initiatives and reporting.
  • Professional affiliation with the Registered Nurses Association of Ontario is considered an asset.
  • Oral and written proficiency in English is required. Oral and written proficiency in French is considered an asset.
  • Excellent attendance is essential.

Hours of Work:
Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm with shared responsibility of alternating on-call duties with other applicable nursing management.

Rate of Pay:
To be discussed.


Please note proof as per Marianhill policy of required vaccinations, including but not limited to influenza, etc., is required as well as proof of a 2-Step Mantoux TB Skin Test dated within the last year with a current updated 1-Step.

You will be required to provide an original, vulnerable sector criminal record check dated within the last 6 months and sign a declaration at time of hire.

Education certificate, diploma or otherwise must be provided to the Employer if applicable to the position and you must participate in the N95 Mask Fit Testing Program if required.
