Team Manager Violence Against Women (VAW) Services

Bilingual, English and French, Required

SCOPE OF POSITION:

The Team Manager Violence Against Women (VAW) services is responsible and accountable for the coordination and implementation of programs, including VAW Counseling, Transitional Housing Support Program, Children Who Witness and the Children's Aid Society / Violence Against Women Integrated Services Project, ensuring ongoing development , service delivery and evaluation within the framework of the WOCRC philosophy and strategic direction.

The VAW programs are delivered in multiple locations around Ottawa. The Team Manager will provide supervision at the place of program delivery. The Team Manager is a member of the management team and handles all aspects of staff management and administration for the VAW teams. The Team Manager collaborates with other WOCRC Team Managers to integrate services using a cross functional lens to increase care coordination to clients across the Centre. The Team Manager collaborates with external groups/agencies in order to ensure effective and comprehensive service delivery and to represent WOCRC in groups and coalitions that address the broad determinants of health.

Excellent relationship building skills;

Demonstrated ability to work independently in remote locations;

Demonstrated conflict management and resolution skills;

Ability to develop and implement programs using an inter-disciplinary collaborative approach;

Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based model of intervention;

Knowledge of social services delivery in Ottawa;

Strong organizational skill due to the multiple locations this position is highly mobile.

Education and Experience:

Masters or Undergraduate degree in Social Work, counselling psychology, health or social sciences or an equivalent combination of education and significant related experience;

Minimum of five (5) years management experience managing a multi-disciplinary team including supervision of staff;

Experience working with abused women, crisis intervention and brief therapy;

Demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of community-based model of health service provision and feminist principles;

Knowledge of the Child and Family Services Act;

Knowledge of the Mental Health Act;

Knowledge of health and social services delivery in Ottawa and the broader Champlain region;

Knowledge of general management principles, including financial and human resource management;

Program development and evaluation experience;

Strong planning, decision-making, leadership and organizational skills;

Demonstrated ability to identify and serve the needs of diverse communities;

Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

Promoter of team work;

Proven conflict resolution skills;

Knowledge and experience working with volunteers;

Demonstrated flexibility and effectiveness with a rapidly changing environment, short deadlines and multiple programs' consumer needs.

Language:

Ability to communicate fluently in English, spoken and written is required;

Ability to communicate fluently in French, spoken and written is required.

Required French Language Capability Level

Oral Expression = Advanced Plus (A)

Other languages reflective of the community we serve as asset.

Other:

Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle required, including $2 million in liability insurance;

Due to the multiple locations of service delivery this position is highly mobile, and the expectation is that the Manager will be working form these sites on a regular basis.

Salary Range:

Starting Salary is $68,741.00.

DESCRIPTION DU POSTE :

The Violence Against Women (VAW) Services Team Manager is responsible and accountable for the coordination and implementation of various programs, including VAW counseling, the bridging program, and housing assistance, the program for children who witness violence and the SAE / VAW integrated services project in partnership with the Children's Aid Society. He or she oversees the ongoing development of these programs and the delivery and evaluation of services, within the framework of the philosophy and strategic directions of the WRCOC.

VAW programs are offered in many locations around Ottawa, with the team manager responsible for overseeing where they are provided. He or she is part of the leadership team and is responsible for all aspects of personnel management and administration for VAW teams. The team manager works closely with his or her counterparts at the WOCRC to integrate services from a cross-functional perspective, with a view to improving the coordination of care and services offered to clients throughout the Center.
