LOCATION


Located approximately 100 kilometres east of Toronto, NHH is a vibrant community hospital delivering a broad range of acute, post-acute, outpatient and diagnostic services.

Directly serving a growing population of more than 60,000 residents spread across a mix of urban and rural settings, NHH directly employs approximately 750 people and relies on the additional support provided by a highly engaged and supportive network of physicians, midwives and volunteers.


ROLE OVERVIEW


Reporting to the Chief of Staff and Vice President, Integrated Care and Chief Nursing Executive, the Medical Affairs Coordinator is instrumental in championing strategies between multiple stakeholders liaising with, and supporting NHH privileged Medical and Midwifery Staff and Physician Leadership Roles.

This role provides leadership facilitation for medical staff recruitment, including onboarding and offboarding, professional staff HR succession planning, physician engagement initiatives and planning, credentialling, physician education events, transmitting information and ad hoc administrative support.


QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Relevant Degree from an accredited facility in Business Administration or related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Five years' experience providing administrative support in a health care setting Academic or Medical Affairs or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • Strong, proven communication (oral & written), interpersonal and analytical skills with attention to accuracy and detail
  • Ability to work as a team member and adapt to a fastpaced environment,
  • Independent and innovative selfstarter must be able to function autonomously, deal with numerous interruptions and concurrent tasks
  • Proven ability to assess inquiries and problems and to exercise good judgement in taking appropriate action
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, nonprofit organizations, Board support
  • Knowledge of relevant healthcare legislative structures and practices in Ontario
  • Demonstrated ability and experience in office management including minute taking
  • Current knowledge of and advanced experience in Microsoft 365 including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS teams and SharePoint, Microsoft Exchange and document management systems is required,
  • A demonstrated respect for privacy and confidentiality
  • Experience maintaining physical and electronic filing systems for record retention requirements, adhering to corporate policies;
  • Minimum of 3 years working in a similar environment, providing administrative support at a senior or executive level in healthcare and
  • Must be able to provide support for afterhours meetings related to supporting the Executive and travel to various locations on occasion (example, all hospital sites, inperson meetings)
  • Proven project management experience in a healthcare related field
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and use good judgement, and as a team member.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet goals and objectives within specified time frames.
  • Excellent listening, visual and mental concentration skills and sound judgement and critical thinking are required.

EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS


Successful applicants are required provide a satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check, that was complete less than one year from the date of hire.

This requirement must be met within the first sixty (60) days of employment.


Additionally, to the above, successful applicants are also required to complete the Health Care Worker Health review process which includes providing an up-to-date immunization record to ensure compliance with the Ontario Hospital Association Communicable Diseases Surveillance Protocols within the first thirty (30) days of employment.
