This is a 12-month mandate in Cochabamba, Bolivia.


The mandate is under the Equality in Action Volunteer Cooperation Program (VCP), which takes place in 14 countries and 3 regions over a seven-year period The VCP aims to increase the involvement of local partners in developing countries in inclusive, innovative and sustainable development initiatives that will advance gender equality.

Oxfam's role is to support these organizations, working with the most vulnerable and marginalized people, to claim and exercise their rights.

Here's what your daily life will look like:
In close collaboration with Oxfam's in-country team members, your mandate will be to:

  • Strengthen the capacities of the partner organization "Instituto de Formación Femenina" in their strategy with youth, proposing adjustments to their work methodology, their institutional communication strategy, and their strategy for creating alliances with local youth organizations working to promote gender justice and violence prevention;
  • Advise the program team on their training methodology so that it is innovative and adapted to the local context and fosters effective collaboration with local youth organizations;
  • Strengthen the capacities of the partner organization to develop their own partnerships with youth networks, knowing how to analyze, prioritize, propose, implement and monitor local policies and action plans.

For this mandate you must:

  • Be a Canadian citizen or have permanent resident status in Canada;
  • Have university degree in psychology, sociology or any other relevant field;
  • Have 3 years of experience relevant to the mandate (with young people);
  • Be fluent in Spanish, spoken and written (required);
  • Master the Office suite.

What
we
offer:

  • Monthly allowance for living expenses;
  • 20% increase in the allowance per accompanying child (maximum of 2
children)

  • 1,500$ CAD per year/per child for school fees;
  • Monthly housing allowance;
  • Round trip flight with 2 checked luggage;
  • Round trip flight for accompanying child(ren)
  • 200$ CAD for additional luggage;
  • Advantageous medical insurance for you and the accompanying child(ren);
  • A volunteer support program during your mandate and up to two months after the end of your mandate;
  • 20 days of vacation and other holidays;
  • Access to various training courses (E-Learning, etc.);
  • A rewarding experience with a wellknown and recognized organization.

En estrecha colaboración con los miembros del equipo de Oxfam en el país, su mandato consistirá en:

  • Fortalecer las capacidades de la organización socia "Instituto de Formación Femenina" en su estrategia con jóvenes, proponiendo ajustes a su metodología de trabajo, su estrategia de comunicación institucional y su estrategia para crear alianzas con organizaciones juveniles locales que trabajan para promover la justicia de género y prevenir la violencia;
  • Asesorar al equipo programatico en su metodología de formación para que sea innovadora y adaptada al contexto local y fomente una buena colaboración con las organizaciones juveniles locales;
  • Fortalecer las capacidades de la organizacion socia para desarrollar alianzas autónomas con redes juveniles, sabiendo analizar, priorizar y, por tanto, proponer, aplicar y seguir políticas y planes de acción locales.
