About You / What We Are Looking For

As one of the fastest growing communities in British Columbia we are looking for a highly motivated and committed social planning professional to join the City's growing Community Planning team as an auxiliary Social Planner.

This auxiliary position will be expected to be scheduled for a minimum of 20 hours per week, but may be required to work up to 40 hours per week based on operational needs.


As part of the Community Planning team, you will work with a wide range of individuals, communities and organizations in helping to plan for and respond to shifts in a rapidly growing community.

You will develop, coordinate and implement social planning polices, programs, events and projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Proven policy implementation experience in these fields will be considered an asset.

Additional duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Child care policy and implementation;
  • Homelessness and addictions issues management;
  • Housing policy and facilitating affordable housing projects;
  • Multiculturalism policy development and implementation;
  • Working with community advisory committees; and
  • Public participation and community engagement.

What We Offer:


This CUPE auxiliary position has an hourly rate range of $ $64.46 per hour (2024 rates) plus 12% in lieu of benefits.

The rate of pay is based on a variety of factors including qualifications, knowledge, experience and skills.
