The Role

We are seeking a temporary part-time assistant ($20/hour) who can thrive in our fast-paced, 'wear multiple hats' environment. The ideal candidate will primarily focus on efficient parcel packing during busy periods but should also possess creative skills to contribute during slower times.


This position is ideal for a university student looking to gain hands-on experience with both the creative and operational side of a company.


This contract will commence on September 15 2024 and end on January 15 2025, with possibility of extension.

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 5 months, possibility of extension

Pay: $20 per hour

Expected hours: 24 – 32 per week

Operations Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Accurately pack customer orders with a keen eye for detail, ensuring each package is correctly assembled and free from defects.
  • Perform quality control checks to catch and correct any mistakes before orders are dispatched.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly packing area in our warehouse.
  • Demonstrate strong multitasking abilities, efficiently handling multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Quick to learn and adapt to our packing processes and product range.
  • Stay focused and committed to completing tasks efficiently and accurately.
  • Assemble products according to specifications; i.e, adding packaging.
  • Assist with inventory management and cycle counting.
  • Collaborate with team members to meet production goals.
  • Keep recycling sorted and help us prevent packaging waste.


Creative Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Create interesting and inspiring organisational planner layouts with pens, highlighters, and stickers (see #plannercommunity on Instagram or our IG for examples)
  • Assist with product photography and create social media content
  • Contribute to blog posts during slower periods

Training is provided for both roles, but good handwriting and other related skills are highly considered.


Requirements:

  • Ability to commute to our location in Coquitlam, BC.
  • Available to work 6-8 hours per day, 3 days a week.
  • Good handwriting (please submit sample)
  • Quick learner with strong organisational skills
  • Self-directed with good critical thinking skills and ability to assess a situation and adapt and determine a solution
  • Resourceful and efficient in handling and packing inventory
  • Creative eye for photography and social media content
  • Interest in planning and organisation
  • Graphic design skills (preferred but not required)
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for sustainable products
  • Experience with Shipstation and Shopify is considered a plus.


Bonuses:

  • You have experience working in fast-paced environments
  • You have warehouse or shipping/handling experience
  • You are familiar with graphic design: knowledge of the Adobe Suite, i.e, Lightroom, Photoshop, Illustrator, and/or InDesign
  • You are highly creative and have good handwriting and an eye for design
  • You are familiar with Shopify, Shipstation, and/or Klaviyo


Physical Requirements:

  • Lifting and Mobility:  Must be able to lift 25 lbs (help is available as necessary).
  • Standing:  Must be able to stand for long periods of time (i.e., for a full shift, excluding breaks).
