About the job

Role overview:

To develop and implement business and category specific strategies and tactics to increase distribution, sales and maximize profits.

The Walmart Business Development Manager will be responsible for the maintenance and growth of existing business and penetration of new businesses.

The BDM must maintain and grow the account's relationships by creating credibility, developing trust and providing outstanding service and results.


The BDM will also be managing 1 employee:
The Walmart Business Analyst Walmart & Ontario Regional Account Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Day to day management of tasks and initiatives with both the account and the business segment to ensure effective and efficient execution while building effective relationships and managing the daily selling process.
  • Develop and present annual business review for the account, providing "fact based" category leadership and shopper insights relative to customer and category performance.
  • Coordinate and lead the execution of regular customer appointments in presenting new products, programs, pricing, and general management of our business.
  • Timely and accurate updates/submissions of all pertinent internal and external requests through the use of company processes and tools.
  • Communicate account priorities and engage the cross functional team (shopper solutions, forecasting, finance, and supply chain) to drive business results
  • Work with the Shopper Solution team to analyze category trends, promotional activity and product assortment to develop selling stories to deliver maximum sales and profits.
  • Work with & foster a relationship with Supply Chain Team to ensure product availability

About you

  • Bachelor's Degree completed
  • Experience: Min. 6 years in sales and 34 years as Key Account Manager / Business Development Manager
  • Account Management in the Food industry an important asset
  • Customer category management and solution selling skills
  • Ecommerce knowledge/experience considered an asset
  • Presentation effectiveness ability to define business opportunities, gather appropriate data to support, organize information, write presentation and deliver to effectively influence key decision maker
