Regional Manager, IAI Business Relationship Management (JAPAC)

We are seeking a talented and experienced Business Relationship Manager (BRM) to bridge the gap between our Information Technology (IT) department and the various business units within our organization.

The BRM will play a critical role in fostering collaboration, understanding business needs, and aligning IT solutions to support the achievement of business objectives.

This role requires a strategic thinker who can establish and maintain strong relationships, communicate effectively, and drive technology-driven business transformation.

Provides leadership & strategy for the BTS Innovation, Architecture & Infrastructure (IAl) organization as the BRM Region Manager (Japan & Korea), responsible for managing support as well as serving as the primary area contact for all Infrastructure technologies.


Relationship Management:

  • Build and nurture strong working relationships with key stakeholders across different business units. Develops and cultivates a close relationship with leaders as Area, Regional and Affiliate level to ensure the organization's solutions and their support meet critical business needs.
  • Act as the primary point of contact between the IT department and business units to understand their needs, challenges, and opportunities.
  • HCL as well as local partners ensuring they fulfil the needs of the BTS IAI organization, in addition to participating in the associated RFP.

Business Alignment:

  • Collaborate with business leaders to understand their strategic goals and translate them into IT requirements and projects.
  • Identify opportunities for leveraging technology to improve business processes, enhance efficiency, and drive innovation.
  • Leads and manages the BRM organization to support solutions that encompass operational excellence, user training and communication needs and help desk readiness

IT Solution Advocacy:

  • Advocate for IT solutions, services, and initiatives that align with the strategic objectives of the business units.
  • Ensure that IT projects and initiatives meet business requirements and expectations.
  • Serves as the primary contact for BTS IAI support within the area, managing the BTS team to facilitate incident resolution and problem management across all areas incl. end user support, collaboration, communication & network through support partners as well as regional & global teams.
Facilitate communication and collaboration between IT teams and business units to ensure
Proven track record and competency of delivery of internal and external Project Management

  • Proven communications change management/project management skills
  • implementation standardization that are aligned with global guidelines.
Conduct thorough assessments of business unit needs, both short-term and long-term, and
prioritize IT projects accordingly.

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the business units' operations,
Work closely with project managers and technical teams to oversee the successful delivery of
IT solutions and services.

  • Ensure that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet quality standards.
  • Build platform awareness in the JAPAC region and directly contribute to the overall business
strategy, including financial planning of AbbVie.

  • Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.
  • Strong customer, infrastructure and desktop engineering acumen, along with executive

Performance Measurement:

  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of IT
solutions in meeting business goals.

  • Continuously monitor and report on the performance of IT initiatives to business unit leaders.

Change Management:

  • Assist in change management efforts related to the adoption of new technology solutions
within the business units.

  • Provide guidance and support to business units in navigating technological changes.
Supervisory / Management Responsibilities

This position reports to the Senior Area Infrastructure Manager and is responsible for representing the BTS IAI organization in the JAPAC region.

Customers are regional leads within AbbVie JAPAC, divisional business systems managers, and corporate business managers.

Suppliers include peer department managers within AbbVie BTS, international and specialty consulting firms, major hardware and software suppliers, and staff consultancy firms related to infrastructure.

Purpose of contacts is establishing and enhancing partnerships and ensuring effective execution of contracts (in tandem With Corporate Purchasing).
Bachelor's Degree or 5-10 years' experience in IT, preferably in Computer Science or MIS.
Minimum Experience / Training Required

Required:

The incumbent should have at least 5 years of business experience with 4+ years of experience within the relevant region.

Demonstrated excellence in complex technologies, enterprise project delivery and support, object infrastructure architecture, and translating concepts to outcomes. Proven communications change management/project management skills. Proven track record and competency of delivery of internal and external Project Management.

Preferred:
Experience working in an FDA-regulated business (e.g. validated software related to medical, pharmaceutical, or life sciences products) or other regulated industry (such as finance).
