Position: Production Scheduler

Reporting Manager: Production Supervisor

Duration: Full Time / Contract)

Ply Gem Canada is seeking a highly motivated individual with a strong passion for operations to join our Production Team.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Production Control Supervisor the Order Scheduler position is responsible for communication with customers to confirm delivery dates to match customer requirements and plant capacity. The successful candidate will be required to communicate with customers, efficiently edit and update production data, collaborate with production and distribution, and work within a team-based environment. The successful candidate has excellent communication skills, is highly organized, detail oriented and has a commitment to providing exceptional customerservice.

Responsibilites

Use the Vision, Mission & Values as the guiding principles, incorporating them into daily operations. Achieve departmental and divisional objectives; to support company goals. Ensure order data are translated and converted that can be processed by the production systems. Project Scheduling. Email correspondence and problem solving. Maintain a detailed database log of information relating to cancelled and/or changed sales orders. Administrator for monthly containments as well as annual Inventory Counts. Document and update description of procedures, and standard work as required. Participate in continuousimprovement initiatives and Divisional Objectives. Ensure all safety guidelines are followed and all operations are run safely. Subject to additional duties, functions assigned by the Production Control Supervisor and Manager. Cross-train within the other Production Control and Purchasing roles as directed by the Production Control Supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum of one-year relevant work experience
• Excellent organizational, communication and interpersonal skills a must. Tactful and firm communicator. Must be proficient in Microsoft Windows based environment with excellent keyboarding skills. Post-secondary education in Operations Management or manufacturing
• Customer service experience is an asset Experience using MPC or complex computer systems is an asset Subject to occassional overtime

Authority

Cancellation of orders in the system that do not meet corporate policy requirements. Re-schedules orders according to prescribed outside supply lead-times, production capacities and shipping capacities.
