Material Planning Team Leader - Amico Corporation
Location: Richmond Hill, ON

Description: The core responsibility of this role is to lead the Materials Team, ensuring they meet their defined roles and expectations by providing guidance and direction. You will collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to guarantee the supply and delivery of materials meet production needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership to Planners, offering direction aligned with business objectives.
  • Collaborate across Departments to achieve production targets.
  • Develop a supply plan based on a comprehensive understanding of materials and services.
  • Support project scheduling to address any issues.
  • Analyze material demand patterns and bills of material construction.
  • Resolve material issues and maintain an accurate materials database.
  • Ensure the material master is up-to-date and accurate.
  • Review sales forecast monthly and suggest modifications.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives.

Expectations:

  • Coordinate with Production, Engineering, Purchasing, and Quality Teams to meet production goals.
  • Supervise and train Material Planners.
  • Maintain inventory accuracy and handle field and quality issues related to materials.
  • Drive process and system improvement.

Maintain the following reports:

  • COGI Report
  • BOM Variance Monitoring
  • Cost/Margin Monitoring
  • Custom Parts Inventory Management
  • Cycle Count/Inventory Adjustment Report
  • Material Planning Report
  • Material Status
  • Monthly KPI Reports (Sales, Material Consumption/Purchases, Inventory, After Sales)

Measurement of Success:

  • Timely submission of reports.
  • Proper training of backups.
  • Maintenance of inventory accuracy standards.
  • Regular updating of BOMs.

Education:

  • Degree in business, logistics, inventory management, or related field preferred.

Education/Experience:

  • Experience with SAP preferred.
  • 2+ years in material planning, inventory management, or related roles.

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective multitasking and prioritization.
  • Ability to interpret reports for production decisions.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and English language proficiency.
  • Experience with Kanban and safety stock levels.
