This position leads the ministry correspondence function, including managing ministerial and executive correspondence, and document approval systems and procedures for the ministry.

This includes advising the Minister's Office, Deputy Minister's office, ministry executive and ministry staff on a wide range of correspondence and information management processes.

The Team Lead, Correspondence Services provides oversight in developing and leading a team in the management of ministerial correspondence, writing standards and document processing systems.

The team lead develops information management strategies designed to ensure effective response to a wide variety of stakeholders on sensitive issues with high public and political impact.

This position sets the ministry's operational correspondence policies and procedures, liaises with the Premier's and Minister's office staff regarding response development and emerging issues, directs the ministry document tracking operations and executive approvals systems, guides ministry staff in the development and preparation of correspondence and document processing procedures, and develops and manages other related resources and tools.


Job Requirements:

  • Certificate and/or training coursework in English, Business English, journalism, communications, professional writing, or other related area, plus two (2) years of related experience

  • Completion of secondary school plus three (3) years of related experience
    ; OR,
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Related experience must include the following:

  • Copyediting and/or proofreading experience.
  • Experience working in public relations or a corporate communications environment with emphasis on planning and development of mechanisms for managing communications.
  • Experience with information dissemination processes, procedures, practices and protocols.

Preference may be given to applicants with the following:

  • Supervisory experience.
  • Who self-identify as Indigenous (First Nations, Métis or Inuit).
  • Experience working with Indigenous organizations and/or communities.
  • Experience in leading work teams and contracted resources and managing individual and work team performance.
- eApprovals administrator experience and experience with the CLIFF tracking system (such as: reporting, administrator functions, troubleshooting and/or user support)

  • Flexible work options are available; this position may be able to work up to 5 days at home per week as per the Telework Agreement.
