The Opportunity:

WSP is currently seeking for a Senior Expeditor to be part of our team and reporting to Director, Supply Chain Management. Responsible for the expediting functions including ensuring the timely submission of engineering deliverables and delivery of equipment/materials by supplier(s).

What you can expect to do here:
  • Typically, responsible for large complex mechanical packages and large fabrication packages.
  • May be assigned as the Expediting Lead on projects.
  • Ensures departmental and corporate policies, procedures, systems, and work instructions are adhered to.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to coordinate for timely submission and return of vendor drawings and documents.
  • Expedite the exchange of schedules, drawings and documents between home-office and suppliers.
  • Communicate equipment/material delays and schedule conflicts with Project Team.
  • Follow-up with the supplier to determine schedule restoration plans and corrective actions to ensure delivery performance, and/or monitor activities during product manufacturing/shipment.
  • Collaborate with relevant 'key working relationships,' such as Client procurement representatives and vendors, to ensure all procurement activities have been addressed and covered off.
  • Manage deadlines and ensure appropriate communication is provided (to relevant parties) when schedule conflicts arise.
  • Expected to work with all levels of the organization in a cohesive manner.
  • Interfacing with project and supplier personnel to assist in the resolution of delivery and problems.
  • Communicating concerns and resolving issues with suppliers and sub-suppliers.
  • Approves progress payment invoices for suppliers and third-party agencies.
  • Coordinates and/or conducts shop visits for verification progress of ordered equipment and material at supplier's facility including identifying issues and working on resolution / mitigation plan.
  • Superior organizational and time-management skills; ability to meet deadlines.
  • Superior conflict resolution skills.
  • Proven ability to multi-task and efficiently respond to changing priorities.
  • Lead by example and promote a positive environment rooted in communication, ownership, and collaboration.
  • Maintain an open mind when receiving constructive feedback and apply recommendations towards self-improvement.
  • Build and maintain WSP's brand/reputation both internally and externally.
What you'll bring to WSP:
  • University or College graduate with 7 or more years of experience of working on Energy, Resources and Industrial projects.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent administration, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be results-oriented and self-motivated.
  • Understanding of procurement responsibilities such as business ethics and fundamental purchasing principles.
