Ceva Animal Health Canada established itself in Canada with the acquisitions of CentaurVA Animal Health and Vetech Laboratories in October 2011.
Ceva offers an expanding range of products for companion animals, poultry, swine, and ruminants for Canadian customers.
About the Role
In this role you will work with the Human Resources Manager to support all the Canadian sites by completing HR administrative duties and executing on HR initiatives in line with the yearly local and global plans.
Responsibilities
HR Strategy and Policies
- Administer HR policies and escalate policy issues.
- Ensure HR procedures are in place for relevant areas of ownership and keep up to date.
- Handle routine employee relations issues in compliance with expected ways of working.
- Facilitate internal agreements.
- Responsible for the maintenance of employee data in all internal HR systems including My Identity, People Cloud and relevant payroll software.
- Development
- Execute partnerships with local Colleges, Universities and other training partners.
- Administration and scheduling of local training plan.
- Recruitment
- Responsible for all recruitment administration, including advertising for open positions, screening resumes, scheduling interviews and administering criminal background checks.
- Ownership of the recruitment process for roles Hay Grade 13 and below including: completion of hiring manager intake meeting, conducting interviews for assigned roles and drafting employment agreements.
- Onboarding administration for all employees and completion of HR onboarding activities for all employees Hay Grade 13 and below including conducting onboarding presentations.
- Prepare C&B reports and data to support the HR Manager.
- Salary increase and Bonus administration as assigned including preparation of yearly increase/bonus letters.
- Tracking and follow up of Job Mastery and Tactical Objectives review cycle completion status. Assist Managers with ensuring completion by the local deadlines.
HRIS
- Prepare local HR reports.
- Conduct Manager education on
HRIS systems and assist when needed. -
HRIS and payroll system account setups and maintenance.
- Completion of local payroll activities as outlined in the local payroll process.
- Administration of the local Vehicle Program including ensuring up to date insurance slips, ensuring employees keep mileage logs up to date, assisting employees with the vehicle ordering process, overseeing the shipment and storage of company vehicles.
- Administration of the time clock system including setting up new employees, terminating employees, department/manager transfers, shift transfers.
- Working with Managers to identify and resolve timesheet discrepancies.
- Administration of Registered Retirement Savings plan including adding new members, terminating members and biweekly payroll deposit uploads.
- Administration of the Health and Dental Benefits plan including adding new members, terminating members and updating plan member information.
- Year end tax administration including preparing and checking T4 forms and preparing T2200 forms.
- Answer employee inquiries regarding pay slip and tax slip information.
- Contribute to local administrative/payroll projects.
- Maintain local organizational charts.
- Completion of the offboarding administration process.
- Complete exit interviews for employees Hay Grade 13 and below.
- Organization and planning of company events.
- Other HR Administration as assigned.

You have a post-secondary education in a related field, with 2+ years of experience in a dedicated HR role
