Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Behavior Technician for the Supporting Community Access through Leisure and Employment ( SCALE ) Program at the Rutgers Center for Adult Autism Services ( RCAAS ).

Provides direct service to individuals with autism across the areas of behavior reduction and skill acquisition goals.
Follows strict parameters to ensure the safety, engagement, habilitative outcomes, through basic supportive learning techniques.
Three (3) months of prior experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities in an ABA setting.
Certifications/Licenses
Driver's license with two years of driving experience, and successful completion of a defensive driving course.
Master's degree or active enrollment in a Master's program specializing in applied behavior analysis ( ABA ).
Forty (40) hours of formal training in Applied Behavior Analysis.

Demonstrated ability to work well with individuals with autism that have significant adaptive, physical, and/or behavioral support needs across various center-based and community-based settings.

Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite and web-based data collection.
Ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats.
Support individuals with autism using public transportation.

Advanced knowledge of applied behavior analysis ( ABA ) evidenced by a recognized training curriculum and current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician ( RBT ).

Advanced knowledge of applied behavior analysis ( ABA ) evidenced by current certification as a Registered Behavior Technician ( RBT ).

Experience working in settings supporting adults with autism.
Prior experience using web-based data collection/analysis software.
Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite.

May work with participants with multiple forms of severe challenging behavior including, but not limited to, intense aggression, self-injury, elopement, expulsion (spitting out food or liquids during treatment), or property destruction.

Must be able to complete crisis management, and following training must be physically capable of safely providing crisis management techniques including lifting individuals, blocking challenging behavior, and if necessary, restraining.

Has direct responsibility for the well-being of the individual(s) with autism under their care. center-based, community-based employment/recreation/leisure sites).
University buses, walking, ride-share) while supporting SCALE participants.
Accountable for completing processes and procedures as mandated by the NJ Division of Developmental Disabilities/Medicaid.
