Oversee all aspects of Client Statement and Tax Reporting obligations for CI Global Asset Management and Assante Wealth Management, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US Tax and Reporting Regulations. The VP will also oversee the production of AODA compliant fillable forms for all lines of business under CI Financial.

  • This is a contract position, up to 13 months.

Job Overview:

We are currently seeking a Vice President to oversee Client Reporting and Taxation (Contract) on our Client Services team. The successful candidate for this role will oversee all aspects of Client Statement and Tax Reporting obligations for CI Global Asset Management and Assante Wealth Management, ensuring compliance with Canadian and US Tax and Reporting Regulations. The VP will also oversee the production of AODA compliant fillable forms for all lines of business under CI Financial.

What you will do:

  • Ensure tax and statement reporting projects and enhancements align with strategic priorities for both CI GAM and Assante Wealth Management
  • Responsible for measuring, reviewing and reporting on KPIs and implementing strategies to ensure performance standards are maintained
  • Responsible for ensuring full implementation of Management Operating Systems on both Client Reporting Teams
  • Ensure full agile project management implementation for both Client Reporting and Taxation teams
  • Oversee the generation of all year-end client tax slips to ensure compliance with Canadian and US Tax Regulations
  • Responsible for the design, implementation, and ongoing monitoring of Qualified Intermediary (IRS) control processes and attestations.
  • Responsible for withholding tax remittance obligations to Canadian and US tax authorities.
  • Serve as the subject matter expert of client tax and statement reporting
  • Work closely with teams across the organization to ensure awareness of tax and regulation changes, and lead projects related to tax and statement operations.
  • Provide support in the assessment and continual review of front-end quality controls
  • Continual review of key processes to ensure relevance based on regulatory changes
  • Collaborate with IT on the prioritization, development and automation of new or existing reporting requirements
  • Oversee the work with key business units on the development or enhancement of new and existing reports based on client needs, regulatory changes, new/updated products
  • Responsible for the timely delivery of reports based on regulatory requirements and client expectations

What you will bring:

  • 5+ Years of Statement and Tax Reporting experience
  • Broker dealer experience is preferred
  • Experience working with back-office book of records systems
  • Strong understanding of client tax forms in Canada and US
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, detail and task oriented, accuracy and attention to detail to identify missing, incomplete or inconsistent information.
  • Ability to work under pressure and tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent people leadership abilities with a focus on coaching, emotional intelligence and empowering team members
