Jacobs is seeking a highly collaborative Engagement Lead with knowledge and experience to grow our relationships with Indigenous communities and organizations.

We are looking for an Indigenous engagement lead who can connect community-based needs with engineering, regulatory, socio-economic, and environmental teams.


Based throughout eastern Canada in Ontario and Quebec (Toronto, Montreal, Ottawa, Kitchener, London) you'll have the opportunity to support the implementation and continuous improvement of the Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation Program.

Reinforce relationships with Indigenous groups that facilitate the ongoing exchange of information and collaboration to support regulatory processes, capacity building, business engagement and community investment, throughout the asset lifecycle.

You'll also monitor, analyze, and communicate emerging issues, risks and opportunities, host meetings, open houses, and cultural workshops. Document and database management, including records of contact, meeting transcripts and site-specific data.

Lead cultural heritage field programs and mentor junior staff to continually develop roles and skills within the Indigenous engagement group.


Previous experience with Indigenous consultation and engagement programs, contracting and procurement, Indigenous cultural heritage, and knowledge, and/or intergovernmental, environmental assessment and associated regulatory processes in Canada are considered assets.


Here's What You'll Need:

  • Excellent problemsolving abilities and the ability to find creative solutions to complex problems
  • Experience engaging with Indigenous groups and collaborating with representatives and community members to resolve complex and often contentious issues
  • Proven ability to collaborate with Indigenous groups to identify opportunities to support sustainability and capacity building
  • A degree in Social Science (e.g. Indigenous Studies, Anthropology, Archaeology, History, Sociology, Political Science) is required
  • A minimum of ten (10) years of experience in Indigenous Relations and Reconciliation, Government Relations, Environment, Anthropology or Archaeology
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Proven facilitation abilities in meeting and fieldbased locales
