Job Description:

You will bring 10 years' experience as a lead safety advisor with dedicated full-time experience leading on-site HSE in multiple industrial work locations. Ideally your experience would be within Forestry, Construction and/or the Oil Gas industry.

This is a permanent position in our Sherwood Park location and we are only looking for local applicants currently.

You must have the ability to travel within the Alberta
region on a regular basis to various site locations.**
What would you be doing?

  • Review and update the company's health and safety program and policies to continually improve the health and safety performance of the operation and business.
  • Review and develop Safety Management Plans at all operating locations for the Sherwood Park District operating locations.
  • Liaises with Occupational Health Safety and owners/clients as needed to endure cooperation and the maintenance of safe work environment.
  • Support the Certificate of Recognition auditing program, COHR certification, internal and external audits, results, and distribution of corrective action plan, manage personal training.
  • Provide guidance, coordination, and technical expertise in environment, health and safety and support the site in training and developmental requirements.
  • Assist organization with incident investigation and reporting.
  • Interpret and advise employees on compliance as it relates to OHS and company standards.
  • Assist with incident investigations to ensure cause and corrective actions address prevention.

Does this sound like you?

  • Professional certification or training in Occupational Health and Safety, supplemented by certification as a Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP) designation.
  • Knowledge/experience with HSE Management Systems and audit tools including Alberta Partnerships, Certificate of Recognition (COR).
  • Have experience running safety programs.
  • Have experience with injury management.
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions.
  • Experience with WCB (Workers Compensation Board) claims management, ISNetworld and A D procedures are an asset.
