PRL is a privately held, Canadian owned, innovative and entrepreneurial insurance brokerage and consulting firm with offices in Toronto, Vancouver and Montreal.

To help support our continued growth, we have an exciting opportunity for a Consultant in the Toronto office of our Group Benefits Services division.


Role Description:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Become the trusted Employee Benefits Advisor to an assigned group of clients of various sizes and industries and be accountable for ensuring that the service and support they receive aligns with the standards set by PRL.
  • Take responsibility for managing client deliverables and working with internal teams to affect their timely production. Deliverables to include renewal negotiations, marketing exercises, carrier transitions, employee presentations, experience reporting, budget projections and client benchmarking.
  • Drive revenue growth by building and maintaining valuable relationships with prospects and clients as well as participating in team sales situations with other Consultants and technical experts.
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of carrier products and networks, cost management solutions and various funding mechanisms.
  • Quickly and efficiently address client inquiries, issues and claims concerns.
  • Represent PRL at client and industry conferences and events.
  • Diligently work to continuously build upon relationships with clients, carriers, and internal crossfunctional teams.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

  • A minimum of 5 years of combined Employee Benefits experience in a consulting, brokerage, carrier sales/account management or group underwriting environment is required.
  • Polished and welldeveloped presentation, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven organizational skills, an attention to detail and the ability to effectively coordinate the delivery of projects and advisory services.
  • Clientfocused with an unwavering commitment to service excellence.
  • Ability to work effectively either on your own or in collaboration with others.
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office Package.
  • Committed to professional development and a desire to stay current with respect to industry, market and legislative trends that impact health & welfare plan design, delivery and compliance
  • Active LLQP License or willingness to immediately obtain.
  • CEBS and experience with EPIC considered assets
