The telecommunications market is undergoing a transformation and Cogeco is forging ahead with our plan to enter the Canadian mobile services market.

We are looking for a Manager, Brand & Advertising to support our wireless team.


Reporting to the Marketing Director, the Manager Brand & Advertising will be responsible for the delivery of Mass campaigns and Acquisition programs (initiatives) in Ontario and Quebec.

He/she will be responsible to ensure all customer-facing communications are aligned with marketing strategies as well as ensuring branding consistency across all advertising and communications.

Furthermore, he/she will act as the link between the different stakeholders (internal partners & external agencies).

The incumbent will have to define the mobile brand tone, aligned with the Cogeco Connexion team, and create the advertising platform for launch in order to achieve the marketing objectives, while ensuring that the brand remains recognisable, up to date and exciting to customers.


MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Be an expert of Cogeco customers know their composition (demographic) and needs (psychographic, segmentation) at the market level region and city
  • Plan the advertising strategy across brand funnel (Awareness, Consideration, Conversion) to achieve our business objectives
  • Build strong relationships across the Cogeco organization especially with the Cogeco Connexion brand and channels teams
  • Define media mix and spend, mass market, tactical, and regional
  • Responsible for setting & managing advertising budget to align with acquisition targets
  • Coordinate & approve agency deliverables
  • Manage the overall messaging/campaign calendar to ensure coverage and consistency
  • Measure advertising impact on a quarterly basis and recommend continuous improvements
  • Ensure all customer facing pieces (store support, digital channel) are consistent across the customer journey to speak with one voice.
  • Plan & deliver quarterly advertising
  • Lead and Coach the Brand/Advertising specialist
  • Ensure content follows all guidelines (brand, regulatory, legal)

REQUIREMENTS:

ACADEMIC TRAINING- Post secondary degree in Marketing or Advertising

WORK EXPERIENCE- 8-10 years advertising or agency experience- People management experience- Experience in subscription based industry - communication, banking or insurance for instance is considered as an asset


SPECIFIC SKILLS- Knowledge of the importance of brand and the different touchpoint sequences- A team player, able to build consensus - someone easy to collaborate with, but driven to deliver.

An iron fist in a velvet glove- A very detail oriented person- A curious mind able to adapt to change and open minded to experiment- A creative person - we have the right to have fun- An entrepreneur - if something needs to get done, figure out how to get it done- An independent person able to work under mínimal supervision- Strong ability to multitask and manage multiple projects with different timelines- A dependable person who says what they do & do what they say- Ability to figure out what is important from what can wait and prioritize accordingly- Familiar with the google/microsoft suite of products (excel, word, powerpoint)- A must : Excellent verbal and written communications skills in both English and French.

The position requires working closely with external and internal resources in Quebec and Ontario.
