Medline Industries, LP is the leading nationwide supplier of medical, surgical and pharmaceutical products to hospitals, nursing homes, HME providers, surgery centers, physician offices and homes care/hospice settings.

JOB SUMMARY:

Under general supervision, set up, adjust, perform preventative maintenance, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain assigned equipment with responsibility for production and quality.

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Perform scheduled maintenance on assigned equipment.
  • Make preventative maintenance check and inspection of assigned equipment, report to shift supervisor, and take appropriate action.
  • Oil and grease equipment. Examine defects and analyze spoilage causes.
  • Analyze mechanical and operational problems, make necessary corrections and run adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
  • Change equipment to new sizes, verifying after change over.
  • Test equipment to verify correct operation and production of quality products.

QUALIFICATIONS - EXTERNAL

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Relevant Work Experience

  • 1 year of experience with a forklift, conveyor and general equipment repair and maintenance.

Additional

  • Fundamental understanding of machinery/equipment.
  • Basic skill level in Microsoft Excel.
  • Willing to travel at least/up to 5% of the time for business purposes (within state and out of state).

Education

  • Associates Degree in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering Technology, Mechanical Engineering Technology, HVAC, or equivalent.

Certification / Licensure

  • Graduate of an apprenticeship program or hold current trade certification.

Additional

  • At least 3 years of experience in a building maintenance position servicing a facility larger than 75,000 square feet.
  • Physical activities necessary to perform one or more essential functions of the position.
  • Ability to bend, twist, reach, push, lift for extended periods daily
  • Frequently move, lift, carry supplies/equipment up to 50 lbs and may have to occasionally lift up to 75 lbs
  • Must be able to stand for minimum of 8 hours and up to 12 hours for up to 6 days a week
  • Ability to continuously ascend and descend from ladders and stairs, work at heights and/or from a ladder, work from a lying down position, work with your hands above your head.
  • Willing to operate material handling equipment ( fork truck).
  • Write documents and reports using writing instruments and computers
  • Read information, often in small print (drawings)
  • Follow appropriate safety procedures such as Lock Out/Tag Out, Arc Flash, etc. and use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) while maintaining equipment, and ensure a safe work environment by eliminating potential equipment safety hazards
  • Ability to work overtime and must be available for on-call requests as needed
