Job Summary
This Maintenance Technician I role is responsible for maintaining, operating, troubleshooting, and repairing physical plant equipment and related systems used in the heating, ventilation, and air conditioning of our facilities.
Main Responsibilities
- Inspect and maintain building systems, including HVAC equipment, to ensure optimal performance and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as cleaning, lubricating, and replacing parts, to prevent equipment failure and extend lifespan.
- Diagnose and repair complex mechanical issues, including those related to pumps, valves, and control systems.
- Conduct operational tests to ensure equipment is functioning within established parameters.
- Make adjustments to physical plant equipment and related systems as needed to maintain optimal performance.
- Perform related duties as required to support the maintenance and repair of building systems.
Requirements
- Completion of courses in technical specialty and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Fourth Class Power Engineer Certificate or equivalent/higher is required.
- Ability and willingness to obtain Pool Operator I & II certification.
- Class C Gas Fitters License for the Province of B.C is desirable.
- Sound related experience in the maintenance of HVAC equipment and of Worksafe BC indoor air quality regulations.
Working Conditions
This position may require working evenings and weekends on various shifts as operationally required. Shift differential will apply when applicable.
