Main Purpose & Function

This Maintenance Technician I plays a crucial role in ensuring the optimal performance of our facilities' physical plant equipment and related systems used in heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.

Key Responsibilities
  • Inspect and maintain equipment, checking gauges and monitoring fluid levels to ensure smooth operation.
  • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including replacing filters, pulleys, and belts, as well as reassembling and packing valves.
  • Conduct operational tests to verify equipment performance and make set point adjustments as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop work plans, adapt work methods, and estimate materials for maintenance projects.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on maintenance activities and equipment performance.
Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will require:

  • Completion of courses in the technical specialty and considerable related experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • A Fourth Class Power Engineer Certificate or equivalent/higher is required.
  • Ability and willingness to obtain Pool Operator I & II certification.
  • Class C Gas Fitters License for the Province of B.C is desirable.
  • Sound related experience in the maintenance of HVAC equipment and of Worksafe BC indoor air quality regulations.
Working Environment

This role may require working evenings and weekends on various shifts as operationally required, with shift differential applying when applicable.

A current and valid BC Driver's License and a Satisfactory driving record are also required, as well as a Police Record Check clearance.
