The Opportunity:
We are seeking a Superintendent – Mine Planning to oversee all mine planning activities.
Responsibilities will include:
- Oversight of a team of 15-20 mine planners
- Preparation of various production schedules
- Reconciliation processes
- Pit optimization and design
- Waste dump designs
- Infrastructure design
- Mining equipment fleet planning
- Rehabilitation and closure planning
- Reserve estimation
- Workforce recruitment and development
- Reporting for financial purposes
- Liaison with various stakeholders
The Iron Ore Company of Canada (IOC) is a leading producer of iron ore products serving a global customer base, operating in Labrador City, Newfoundland and Labrador, as well as port facilities in Quebec.
Role Responsibilities:
This position offers the opportunity to lead a team of technical professionals, reporting to the Manager – Mine Technical Services. Key responsibilities include:
- Creating a safe work environment within the mine planning team

Requirements:
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent
- Minimum of eight years in open pit mine planning
Preferred:
- Experience in leading mining teams
- Operational experience
- Canadian Professional Engineer status or eligibility
- Project Management experience
