Position Overview:


Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging the Secretary II will be responsible for supporting the Mammography/OBSP program's clerical duties in the department and to ensure the maintenance and integrity of patients diagnostic records while working independently, as well as with the mammography team to strive for Continuous Quality Improvement in the Mammography area of DI.

Requirements:

  • Secondary School graduate or equivalent
  • Medical terminology in particular to DI
  • Proficient in using Integrated Client Management System (ICMS)
  • Strong keyboarding skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
  • Ability to function effectively as a multidiscipline team member
  • Evidence of sound organizational and prioritization skills, with the ability to work independently well in stressful situations
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and documentation skills with the ability to work well with patients, families, all levels of staff and the community
  • Demonstrates values consistent with SHN's Code of Conduct and is committed to fostering a healthy and positive work environment in accordance with Health & Safety policy and legislation.
  • Utilize protective equipment provided and identify and reports hazards
  • Engages in ethical conduct and strives to understand and appreciate the diversity of our patient/staff population and community
  • Excellent work performance and attendance

Asset:

  • Preferred Medical administration certificate
  • Preferred experience in a Hospital Diagnostic Imaging Dept
  • Preferred knowledge of RIS,PACS systems
