Based in Huntsville, the Land Use Planner will report to the Senior Land Use Planner and will have a wide range of duties on a variety of land use planning projects.


What You'll Do:

The Land Use Planner will be part of the TULLOCH Engineering team with the primary focus of supporting various internal clients across all departments

You will:

  • Work on both large and small development projects throughout northern and central Ontario
  • Lead development proponents through the _Planning Act_ process
  • Add value to land through critical thinking and rigorous policy analysis
  • Work with municipalities on strategic planning policy projects
  • Undertake Official Plan review exercises and municipal needs analyses
  • Liaise with other professionals, municipalities, and government agencies
  • Build client relations

Who You Are:

  • You have 35 years experience working in a land use planning and development role, either in the private sector or at the municipal level.
  • You have working knowledge of the _Planning Act_, Provincial Policy Statement, municipal Official Plans and Zoning or Development Permit By-Laws.
  • Full Membership with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute (OPPI) is preferred. Eligibility for full membership with OPPI within 1 year is required at a minimum.
  • You have a Class "G" driver's license.
  • You are someone who makes decisions/exercises independent judgment within defined parameters and in alignment with business objectives
  • Able to pivot and alter approach or recommendations to accomplish desired results
  • You are not afraid to raise your hand when you need help or guidance
  • Are trusted and provided freedom to work independently but also contribute to the overall team success
  • Strong ability in using MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
