Location:Hybrid (Downtown, Toronto)

Duration:12 months

Our client, a leading financial institution in Downtown Toronto is looking for aLead Digital Interaction Designer tocollaborate with interdisciplinary team members and stakeholders to analyze, design and convey the design vision. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with one of the Top 5 Banks in Canada.

Typical Day in role:
  • Primarily supportDirect Investing & InvestEase workwith a cross-functional team and various stakeholders as well as design support with our vendor
  • This role leads complex projects, delivering both interaction design and visual artifacts (web and mobile native) that are aligned with RIG (our Design System) and that are focus on client-first experiences and conducive to the success of our business objectives
  • This role is an individual contributor with advanced knowledge of Interaction Design skills and a working knowledge of other disciplines and business practices
  • Have domain fluency and provide technical and market guidance to others while making decisions about complex, ambiguous problems impacting product and business outcomes
  • Uses their expert understanding of user and business needs to define metrics and test outcomes
  • Plans and executes on projects collaboratively
  • Both Direct Investing and InvestEase are complex and difficult applications for our clients to understand and navigate
  • Success will be seen if they are able to help simplify the processes, collaborate and strengthen relationships with our partners including Product, Business, Analytics and Insights), so design can influence and work with them to create client experiences that are simple, relevant, informative, contextual, timely and inspiring
Must-Have Skills:
  • 4 to 10 years of experience
  • Strong technical depth and breadth of expertise in Interaction Design practice theory / tools
  • Experience designing and launching digital products
  • Proficiency performing end-to-end Usability Testing Studies
  • Experience working on cross-functional teams and in agile environments.
  • Storyteller. Experience informing and influencing decisions by presenting sound experience design recommendations.
Nice-To-Have Skills:
  • Financial Industry and Self-Directed Brokerage experience
  • Hands-on experience with various UX research methods
  • Systems Thinking
Soft Skills Required:
  • Strong communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with other designers and cross-functional team members
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and build relationships
Education:
  • BA/BS degree in Design (e.g. interaction, graphic, visual communications, product, industrial), Human Computer Interaction (HCI), Computer Science (CS), or a related field or equivalent practical experience
