The Department Associate will work a mix of shifts supporting retail sales support, aisle maintenance and filling merchandise during both regular operating hours and after store hours.


Major Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Meet, greet and thank customers (by name where possible) and provide friendly, informed service
  • Guide customers to location of products
  • Suggest valueadded and related products by actively listening to the customers' needs
  • Fill merchandise on floor according to established practices and policies
  • Reconcile inventories with physical cycle counts, as required
  • Handle dangerous goods and hazardous products according to established procedures
  • Maintain a professional appearance (uniform, hygiene, grooming & name tag)
  • Follow company, store and department policies
  • Follow store health & safety program and observe provincial occupational health & safety regulations; report any observed or potential hazards immediately
- participate in meetings and all training, as required

  • Complete other tasks, as required.

Physical Demands

  • Able to lift 25 kilos or 50 lbs unassisted and carry as required
  • Able to stand for a period of 8 hours
  • Able to be constantly moving for a period of 8 hours
  • Able to bend/reach for a period of 8 hours
  • Able to twist, turn, reach and work above shoulder level
  • Able to go up and down a ladder while carrying merchandise
