The Opportunity
We are looking for an organized and planful Procurement Specialist to join our growing team.

Reporting to the President, the Procurement Specialist will be responsible for purchasing/procurement organization wide (including print and general office supplies - whatever our business needs) and will be an integral to supporting our sales and estimating teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Cultivate and own Simpson Print's relationship with its vendors managing the flow of supplies so our teams have the materials and equipment needed to perform their jobs.
  • Captaining all purchases (organizationwide) to ensure we buy the best price, best quality while hitting timeline expectations.
  • Provide estimation team with uptodate pricing for all items used for production/sales orders.
  • Manage the PO process from start to finish ensuring the accuracy of data within the Accura system.
  • Manage the procurement process from start to finish so our estimating and sales teams can focus on what they do best.
  • Monitor and manage supply inventory to ensure timely and costeffective job completion that meets (and ideally exceeds) customer expectations.
  • Continuously research potential vendors, materials, and services to understand what is new in the market and ensure competitive pricing.
  • Maintain accurate vendor and supply list pricing and records.
  • Own the procurement data including creating and analyzing regular reports.
  • Continuously improve procurement related processes to help Simpson Print and B2Signs & Events achieve further efficiencies while improving costs.
  • Provide and analyze reporting and support of daily output metrics and recurring issues.

Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of high school diploma, college diploma or university degree with a focus on Print or Procurement is preferred.
  • 5 years' experience in the procurement of supplies, ideally in a print environment.

Desired Skills and Abilities:

  • Understanding of the print workflow process and the products and signage we sell
  • Thorough knowledge of people management, print equipment & systems and operating procedures.
  • Experienced and effective negotiator
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Experienced and comfortable with creating and modifying spreadsheets (Excel and Google Docs)
  • Exceptional planning and problemsolving abilities.
  • Goal and results focused to ensure strict deadlines at met, including quarterly and annual goals and objectives.
  • Solid analytical skills
  • Lean and/or Six sigma expertise is an asset.
  • Proficiency with Accura

Working Conditions:


Activity in the warehouse and/ or print room, may be necessary, where the incumbent may be exposed to dirt, dust, noise and fumes.

The incumbent may be required to travel within Canada to attend customer meetings or training sessions. In exercising these functions the incumbent must be able to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally to move objects

Hours & Location:


This is a Full-time Hourly position (8:00am to 5:00pm, 60 minute lunch break), based out of Bloomingdale, 865 Sawmill Drive Bloomingdale.
