Position Summary

The KL-OHT is looking for a temporary full-time Project Coordinator effective April 03, 2023 and ending on or before March 29, 2024.


As part of the KL-OHT, you will have a unique opportunity to work alongside a dynamic team of highly-committed patient/client partners, care providers and leaders from across the continuum of care, and will work to pioneer a new approach to health care and related services.

This position will play a key role in the support of collaborative projects to transform health care access and delivery in the KL-OHT region.


The Coordinator will work closely with the KL-OHT staff team and multi-stakeholder working groups through the provision ongoing administrative (organizing meetings, minutes, action items) and coordination support in the implementation of projects as appropriate.

While the specific projects in this portfolio will be varied based on emerging KL-OHT priorities they may include:
administrative support for the establishment of multiple centralized intake/coordinated access processes, 24/7 navigation supports, etc.

This position will report to the Executive Director of the KL-OHT. As a member of the KL-OHT, Ross Memorial Hospital (RMH) is supporting the recruitment for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide support to KL-OHT working groups to identify and implement projects and workplan deliverables.
  • Support the implementation of coordinated access, centralized intake of various clinical workflow processes (such as cancer screening initiatives, virtual access to specialty care, etc.).
  • Engage key stakeholders to ensure project activities are executed based on plans and standards, within the specific scope, budget and schedule.
  • Support the implementation of various priority projects as required; for example, providing administrative and coordination support as appropriate based on the project needs.

Kawartha Lakes Ontario Health Team (KL-OHT) is a fully designated Ontario Health Team for the City of Kawartha Lakes and surrounding communities.

Our mission is to coordinate and connect care to create a seamless experience for patients and families.

By putting the patient at the centre of our system, we aim to reduce confusion, support more efficient navigation between care settings, and help keep people healthier, for longer.

Essential Qualifications

  • Experience in health care with a minimum of five years of experience
  • Ability to establish efficient workflow processes and manage high degree of detail
  • Ability to develop and execute action plans in a highly collaborative environment
  • Ability to establish processes for data collection and basic analysis to inform process improvement
  • Meeting facilitation, agenda setting, minute taking
  • Knowledge of Ontario's OHT model and local OHT structure/plan
  • Coordination and administrative experience in the healthcare setting required
  • Works crosscollaboratively with groups across the KL-OHT to align approaches with other areas of work.
  • Demonstrated good attendance and performance records with the ability to maintain these same standards.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, with a track level of engaging health system leaders
  • Selfstarter, with outstanding customer service
  • Effective communicator, able to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing, including effective presentation skills
  • Excellent understanding of Ontario's healthcare system and healthcare administration.
