About the role


As a Compass ELC Home Child Care consultant, you will be a part of a co-active leadership team and will work alongside some of the most passionate, caring, and dedicated Home Child Care Providers and staff in the industry.

You will spend your time engaging, connecting, and learning alongside providers, families, and peers.

You will have a focus on administration and operations supporting, guiding, and mentoring providers, staff, and community in all legislation related to Home Child Care (HCC), Compass ELC policies, procedures, and program statements.

You will also have opportunities to work closely with community partners, parents, and children. You will model and grow an equity perspective and strive for a deeper understanding of cultural awareness. You will work 35 hours a week.

This permanent position is for 35 hours per week and hours of work may vary due to occasional evening and weekend obligations.

This position will qualify for benefits after 6 months.

  • To have knowledge, passion, and skills in the administration and operations of a Home Child Care Program.

About you
You are passionate about early learning and care, emergent curriculum, and life-long learning.

You are eager to contribute to an amazing organizational culture and to create partnerships with children, families, educators/HCC consultants, and the community welcoming diverse perspectives.

You have a natural disposition towards HCC administration and operations, are comfortable with technology and possess a clear understanding of the CCEYA (Child Care Early Years Act), related legislation, Compass ELC policies and procedures, distributed leadership, and supporting a culture of a safe and joyful workplace.

You are registered with the College of Early Childhood Educators and possess the training and documents required by the Ministry of Education to work in a childcare setting.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • Is familiar with the Child Care Early Years Act, licensing standards in a childcare program, and other related legislation
  • Has experience working/volunteering with children and youth.
  • Clear Police Vulnerable Sector Check
  • Standard First Aid and CPR Level C
  • Updated immunization records (Or a signed and notarized refusal of affidavit or medical exemption).
  • Fully vaccinated for COVID19 (* Applications for exemptions will be considered only for the protected grounds under the Ontario Human Rights Code disability (medical) and creed (religious). Accommodations, if granted, may vary from person to person and are not guaranteed).
  • Valid Driver's license and vehicle
  • Safe Food Handlers Training certification
  • Computerbased skills, accounts receivable, communication with families, staff, and community
  • Knowledge of CELC Sandbox platform, enrollment, billing, staffing/provider information, ADP payroll system.
  • Awareness of the Ontario Child Care Management system and Canada-Wide Early Learning and Care program.
