We have an exciting opportunity for a registered nurse to join our Inservice Education team as a Clinical Nurse Educator - Critical Care - at the Sturgeon Community Hospital The primary role of the Clinical Nurse Educator - Critical Care (ICU/CCU) is to provide and facilitate continuing education, professional development, and evaluation of clinical skills for nursing staff based on adult education principles, to ensure that clinical competencies and organizational standards/practices are maintained.

Reporting to the Patient Care Manager the incumbent works collaboratively with other Clinical Nurse Educators and the Sturgeon Community Hospital management team to ensure best nursing practice and provision of quality care.

Other duties include promoting the clinical competence of staff through policy, procedures, protocols, and technology.

In this position, you will be on your feet for an extended period of time (both walking and standing), and you must be able to assist in transporting, lifting and positioning of patients.

You will also be required to bend, lift, push, and pull equipment.

Description:

As an Instructor, you will be an expert practitioner and key educator.

You will take a leadership role in the planning, coordination, implementation and evaluation of education for nursing staff including orientation, compulsory and continuing education, and clinical development.

You will collaborate with management and internal partners to promote standards of clinical, educational and evidence informed practice.

You will play a key role in providing safe, quality patient and family centered care while reflecting the shared vision and values of AHS.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited nursing education program. Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA). Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
