We are seeking a highly experienced CPA to join our team on a 6-month contract basis.

The primary focus of this role will be to conduct a comprehensive review of our capital assets, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and efficiency in our financial reporting processes.

This position is crucial for cleaning up our books in preparation for a new build project.- Opportunity to contribute to a significant financial restructuring project.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct a thorough review of all assets exceeding $5 million in value.
  • Identify the useful life of each asset and assess its impact on writeoffs and depreciation.
  • Compare industry standards for asset useful life to determine if ours are appropriately aligned.
  • Communicate and implement policies regarding Work in Progress (WIP) accounting.
  • Ensure accurate componentization of assets at the appropriate level.
  • Develop standardized reporting formats for project completion and aging of WIP.
  • Further refine capitalization and labor policies to enhance efficiency and compliance.
  • Audit WIP to ensure compliance with capitalization policies and regulatory requirements.
Qualifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation is required.
  • Extensive experience in capital asset management and financial reporting.
  • Indepth knowledge of depreciation methods, accounting standards, and regulatory compliance.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with crossfunctional teams.
  • Detailoriented approach with a commitment to accuracy and integrity in financial reporting.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading financial projects or initiatives.
  • Ability to work independently and meet tight deadlines in a highpressure environment.
