We are looking for a new team member to fill the position of Recruitment Cooridnator based at NorLand's head office in Burnaby BC, reporting to the HR Business Partner, People & Culture. As an integral member of the People & Culture team, the Recruiting Coordinator is responsible for managing the full-cycle recruitment process to attract and hire the best talent by ensuring that high-quality candidates are sourced and screened in a timely manner. They also provide Administration support to the People & Culture department as necessary, focused on the onboarding of new hires.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Be an integral partner in supporting the recruiting activities of Norland, working across multiple business units on a range of positions, and with a variety of Hiring Managers.
  • Work collaboratively with the People & Culture team and business units to delivery high quality transactional and administrative People & Culturesupport.
  • Promoting, living and embedding the NorLand Values through all day-to-day interactions.

Responsibilities:

  • Exceeding assigned hiring objectives through posting positions, reviewing applicants, conducting screening calls and providing candidate summaries to Hiring Managers.
  • Prepare and post positions on various platforms such as Indeed, Craigslist, LinkedIn, and other job boards as applicable.
  • Conducting phone screens and scheduling interviews with Hiring Managers.
  • Providing guidance to hiring managers in the selection of the strongest candidate, offer negotiation and onboarding. Advises the Hiring Manager in interview best practices.
  • Completing references and all associated background checks.
  • Sending out requests for assessments to candidates and sending results to the Hiring Managers.
  • Using creative recruitment tools including social media, job boards and referral programs to publicize opportunities.
  • Promoting a positive candidate experience by ensuring clear, respectful, and engaging communication at all stages of the recruitment process.
  • Supporting all recruitment and candidate documentation such as new hire documents and employment contracts and ensuring a smooth onboarding process for new hires.
  • Creating and maintaining a pool of candidates available for current and future hiring needs.
  • Maintaining digital filing systems, which may include new hire records entry.

Education & Experience:

  • Prior experience in a high volume full-cycle recruiting position covering a combination of hourly and salaried roles, or an equivalent combination of recruitment and administrative experience.
  • Completion of, or currently enrolled in post-secondary education in administration or human resources.
  • Familiarity with various sourcing techniques and platforms.
  • Effective team player with solid recruitment knowledge, strong administration skills and business acumen.
  • Technology and social media savvy.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and customer service skills (verbal and written).
  • Proven ability to meet challenging deadlines in a dynamic business environment.
  • Proactive, with a continuous improvement mindset. Is highly organized, with a high attention to detail.
  • Fluent verbal and written English communication skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • This is a temporary contract role from early-June to end-August 2024.
  • The successful candidate will work in-person alongside our supportive People & Culture team at our Burnaby offices, close to transit and with parking. This role is not offered on a remote basis.
  • The role is offered on an up-to full time basis (up to 40hr work week). We will also consider candidates wishing to work a 30hr work week, or with flexibility to work between 30-40hrs per week depending on recruitment volume.
  • Rate of pay is $22-$24 per hour
