JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the Executive Chef, the Chef de Partie plays a crucial role as a supervisor within the kitchen team, ensuring smooth day-to-day operations in their assigned kitchen area.


  • Supervise the designated kitchen area in the absence of kitchen management.
  • Deliver professional, friendly, and proactive service to guests and colleagues consistently.
  • Ensure the preparation and execution of all food items align with hotel recipes and standards to offer the best product to guests and colleagues.
  • Ensure colleagues adhere to the hotel's recipes and standards.
  • Oversee food quality and execution of all food and beverages served in the staff cafeteria.
  • Possess in-depth knowledge of menu items, including ingredients and allergens.
  • Provide menu and recipe recommendations for future development to stay current with food trends.
  • Support other kitchen areas and colleagues as necessary.
  • Input orders using the Birchstreet system for proper food level maintenance.
  • Adhere to kitchen policies, procedures, and service standards, ensuring colleagues follow suit.
  • Maintain a safe, clean work environment, meeting Health & Safety standards diligently.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety & hygiene policies at all times.
  • Complete EHC temperature records accurately.
  • Perform kitchen equipment cleaning tasks, including line fridges.
  • Adhere to sustainability, food waste reduction, and diversion policies and programs.
  • Promote teamwork within the kitchen and other departments.
  • Communicate effectively to provide clear direction to colleagues and leaders.
  • Show high levels of responsibility and accountability.
  • Perform additional assigned duties.


Qualifications
  • 4 years of kitchen experience, ideally in a hotel setting.
  • Minimum 1 year of Banquets/Events kitchen experience.
  • Red Seal certification or equivalent required.
  • Food Safe certification mandatory.
  • Able to thrive in a fast-paced, high-volume kitchen environment.
  • Stay updated on new food presentation and preparation trends.
  • Possess strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Comfortable interacting with guests in public areas.
  • Energetic, self-motivated, outgoing, and a team player.
