Based in Sherwood Park, AB, the French Translator will play a crucial role in ensuring consistently accurate translations for all corporate communications, contracts, and websites in French & English.
Reporting to the Marketing Administration Manager, the Translator will contribute to the localization efforts, maintaining the highest standards of linguistic accuracy and quality.
This is a challenging and rewarding position that requires a keen eye for detail, and excellent linguistic abilities.Essential Responsibilities:
- Translate legal documents, contracts, and agreements, ensuring precision and conformity with company legal terminology in both languages (French & English).
- Translate website and social media content, ensuring a seamless and userfriendly experience for both French and Englishspeaking audiences.
- Work closely with crossfunctional teams, including Marketing, Legal, and Communications, to understand the context and nuances of each translation assignment.
- Participate in meetings to discuss specific translation requirements and project timelines.
- Conduct thorough proofreading and editing of translated materials to eliminate inconsistencies.
- Collaborate with legal teams to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements in both French and English.
- Implement feedback from internal stakeholders to continuously improve translation quality.
- Ensure the accuracy, consistency of the company's tone and style.
- Stay updated on industryspecific terminology, trends, and best practices to enhance translation quality.
- Develop, implement and maintain a corporate terminology bank to ensure the consistent usage of corporate terminology and language across all communication channels.
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 35 years of experience as a professional translator, with a focus on corporate communications, contracts, and website content.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to delivering highquality, errorfree translations.
- Familiarity with marketing concepts and terminology is a plus.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines efficiently.
- Expert skill with Microsoft Word and intermediate skill with Microsoft Excel.
- Fluent in both English and French with exceptional writing and verbal communication skills in both languages.
There will be a French and English assessment as a part of the recruitment process.
