Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and passionate French Language Educator to join our team at Oxford Learning Centres, Inc. as a Tutor and Coach. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in spoken and written French and English, and be comfortable teaching students ranging in age from Kindergarten to Grade 12.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach French language skills to students in a one-on-one setting, using our proprietary methodologies and philosophies.
  • Develop and implement lesson plans to meet the needs of individual students, with a focus on improving their academic skills and study habits.
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to ensure a positive and supportive learning environment.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and communicate regularly with parents and guardians.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in language education.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or similar certification in a relevant field, such as education or linguistics.
  • Fourth year university students with extensive tutoring experience will be considered.
  • Teaching certification an asset.
  • Good knowledge of the current Grades 9-12 French core curriculum.
  • Some experience teaching/tutoring French at a Grade 9 to 12 (or equivalent) level.
  • Strong English written and oral communication skills.
  • Strong French skills and ability to guide students' understanding.
  • Ability to multitask and balance working with up to three students at a time.
