What can I expect to do in this role?: Working in a multi-disciplinary team, you will:

  • provide a full range of professional, culturally & gender-responsive social work services
- coordinate and facilitate the case management process
- provide clinical assessment, crisis intervention and specialized treatment services for complex cases
- provide input into individual goal development
- develop and deliver evidence-based programs
- conduct individual, family and group counseling and treatment sessions
- liaise with family and community organizations

How do I qualify?:

Mandatory:

  • Master of Social Work or Bachelor of Social Work degree with significant post graduate supervised social work experience
  • Currently registered in good standing with Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers

Specialized Knowledge and Experience:

  • You have indepth knowledge of theories, principles, and practices of social work assessment and intervention
  • You can develop and implement rehabilitative treatment plans and programs to clients with complex needs
  • You have expertise in case management and clinical planning
  • You have demonstrated knowledge of adolescent development, processes, theories and effective therapeutic interventions including understanding of gender specific programming and relevant issues related to at risk youth
  • You have knowledge of relevant community resources and agencies

Proven Communication, Presentation, Facilitation, Interpersonal and Group Leadership Skills:

  • You can provide training, assessment services, individual, family and group counseling programs
  • You are able to adjust your communication in order to connect and build rapport with a diverse client population with varied cultural, ethnic, and educational backgrounds
  • You can prepare written assessments and program evaluations
  • You have experience working effectively within a multidisciplinary team including external agencies

Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • You can diagnose youth risk, needs, and responsivity issues
  • You can develop treatment plans and evaluate programs and services
  • You have organizational skills and planning skills to manage workload
