Job Description

We are currently seeking Human Resources Advisors for our client, an organization apart of the Ontario Government Agency. In this role, the HR Advisor will be supporting the assigned client groups in multiple locations with labour relations, grievances, and attendance management. This is a one-year contract with a hybrid working model (2-3 days on site), this position requires travel.

Responsibilities:
  1. Policy and Compliance Support:
    Provide managers and supervisors with guidance on corporate policies, procedures, collective agreements, and ensure compliance with legislation and regulations.
  2. Coaching and Counselling:
    Offer coaching and counselling on staff career development, performance management, labour relations, attendance management, and workplace investigations.
  3. Labour Relations Participation:
    Work with the Employee Relations Consultant on labour relations issues, including handling grievances and administering employee discipline.
  4. Attendance Management Support:
    Assist managers with attendance management by assessing issues, identifying problems, providing solutions, writing correspondence, and participating in meetings.
  5. Occupational Health Partnership:
    Collaborate with Occupational Health to support employees on leave or in transitional programs, ensuring management is aware of accommodation requirements.
  6. HR Consultation:
    Consult with HR specialists to address and resolve client issues and priorities.
  7. Workplace Investigations:
    Conduct impartial workplace investigations with client management, providing recommendations to resolve complaints and ensure compliance.
  8. HR Metrics and Improvement:
    Compile HR metrics and data to identify areas for improvement within business units.
  9. Strategic HR Projects:
    Take on strategic HR and special projects with organization-wide implications.
  10. Diversity and Inclusion:
    Promote behaviours that support diversity, inclusion, and a respectful, discrimination-free work environment, ensuring compliance with relevant laws and policies.
Requirements:

Experience working in a unionized environment
Working experience with grievances
Attendance management experience handling different types of absenteeism
