They are responsible for planning crop planting and harvesting schedules, planning equipment maintenance, soil testing, pesticide spraying, and assisting with harvest reports.

The Field Manager will oversee the functions and schedules of the farm staff, ensuring that handling and packaging of produce meets quality standards and industry regulations.

How You'll Do ItPreparing plans and schedules for planting and harvesting and ensuring staff understands expectationsVisiting the different divisions to inspect crops, harvesting procedure, perform tests on soil and water, and conduct pesticide spray and crop protection methodsScheduling repairs, maintenance, and replacement of equipment and machinery Ensure compliance with all Standard Operating Procedures pertaining to harvesting, packing, storing, and shipping of fresh produce.

Ensure compliance with CFIA and USDA policies and procedures.

ABOUT YOUSuccessful Scotlynn Candidates Have:


Extensive previous experience in the produce industry is required working with commodities such as sweetcorn, watermelon, pumpkins, asparagus, and ginseng Knowledge of farm equipment and proper maintenance is requiredPesticide License is required Previous experience in a managerial role is preferred Ability to communicate effectively (written and verbal) in English; ability to communication verbally in Spanish is an assetMust be able to work independently and in a team settingExcellent problem-solving, analytical, and critical thinking skillsABOUT USFarming fresh produce and delivering it to retailers is how Scotlynn got its start.
