Events and Special Projects Coordinator


The Nature Trust of British Columbia is a leading non-profit land conservation organization dedicated to protecting critical habitat for wildlife, fish, and plants in BC.

Since 1971, we have secured over 180,000 acres of ecologically significant land.

This is a temporary contract position based in Vancouver, B.C. The Event and Special Projects Coordinator will report directly to the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications.

Responsibilities:

  • Work directly with the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications and Event Management Consultant to help execute The Nature Trust fundraising Gala its signature fundraising event
  • Secure silent auction items and inkind donations
  • Administration of online auction platform, including taking photos, assessing fair market value, writing item descriptions, etc.
  • Provide administrative support for events, including:
  • Schedule internal meetings
  • Attend all event committee meetings
  • Capture and coordinate sponsor information
  • Respond to Gala questions from donors and sponsors
  • Track Gala attendee lists
  • Other duties as required
  • With direction from the Director of Development, Marketing and Communications, execute postevent stewardship activities including meaningfully thanking our event supporters (participants, sponsors, donors, and vendors)
  • Work with the Donor Database Specialist to accurately track, pull, and analyze reports to help inform decision making
  • Engage in other tasks and special projects as assigned by Senior Management
Skills, Abilities, and Qualifications

  • Minimum of one year's experience in a fundraising, marketing, administrative or event coordination role
  • Superior planning, organization, and time management skills
  • Demonstrable strong written and verbal communications skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
  • Demonstrates initiative and the ability to function collaboratively, 'juggle' priorities and work in a timely fashion
  • A great 'gogetter' attitude and passion for events
  • Passion for the natural environment of BC
  • Must be legally allowed to work in Canada
  • The role involves occasional weekend or evening work, including the night of the Gala on Thursday October 3rd, 2024
What we offer

  • The salary range for this role is $25$28 per hour
  • The role is based out of the Vancouver office, conveniently located close to Burrard, Granville, and Waterfront stations
  • Flexibility for hybrid working
  • Contract term ending December 2024
