Overview


The Accounting Bookkeeper at Coquitlam Alliance Church is responsible for accurate financial record-keeping, ensuring compliance, and providing support for the church's financial operations.

This position plays a vital role in maintaining financial stability, transparency, and integrity, while supporting the mission and vision of Coquitlam Alliance Church.


Hours
This role is full-time 40 hours/week. The position is open until filled.

Responsibilities:

Provide Accounting & Bookkeeping Services (90%)

  • Process and ensure all financial transactions for CA Church are recorded in general ledger
  • Manage donor database and maintain records of all donor transactions
  • Maintain financial documentation for all transactions
  • Prepare and record adjustments and journal entries
  • Process accounts payable and receivable
  • Deposit donations and other income to the bank
  • Process financial reimbursements for expenses paid by key stakeholders
  • Produce and distribute donor tax receipts and statements
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements
  • Generate and distribute financial reports to staff
  • Prepare bank and other account reconciliations
  • Ensure reconciliations & internal financial controls are implemented
  • Ensure timely and accurate preparation and processing of payroll and T4's
  • Liaise with HR staff for employee needs and governmental reporting
  • Prepare CRA remittances
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets for General, Missions and Building Funds in consultation with Executive Leadership Team
  • Assist in preparation of reports for annual external financial review & CRA reporting

Participate in Staff Responsibilities (10%)

  • Attend weekly staff prayer
  • Assist at _All Hands on Deck_ events
  • Attend _All Staff Meetings_

  • 5 years accounting/bookkeeping experience, experience in a church or nonprofit preferred
  • Great with computers, including Excel and QuickBooks

Salary:
$22.00-$30.00 per hour
